Odd Sock Day – Part of Anti-Bullying Week

Tuesday 12 November – Odd Sock Day for Anti Bullying Week

As you may be aware, it is national Anti-bullying week from Tuesday 12 November 2019 and the Academy will be joining with community members across the country to raise awareness of bullying and how to tackle it in a number of ways.

On Tuesday, pupils will be allowed to wear odd socks to celebrate their individuality and differences. There is no pressure on the children to wear the latest fashion or for parents to buy expensive costumes.  All pupils need to do is wear odd socks. We would like to invite participating children to make a £1 donation – or any donation you think appropriate – which will be sent to the Anti-Bullying Alliance to support them in continuing to coordinate the week every year.

Although pupils will be allowed to wear odd socks, we stipulate that they must be ankle length, not knee high and socks will be allowed to be worn over tights.

Thank you all in support of Anti-Bullying week.
