As a precautionary measure if you are going on holiday to China, Thailand, Japan, Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, or Macau during half term and you or your children develop symptoms of a cough, fever or shortness of breath, you should call NHS 111 to inform them of you recent travel and your symptoms. If your child has these symptoms after travelling we would advise that they do not attend school for 14 days or until cleared by doctors. If, however your child is symptom free but you aren’t the government’s advice is that someone else brings them to school for the next 14 days.
If you have not travelled to the above areas there is no need to take any special precautionary measures if you are suffering from symptoms of cough or cold. If as a parent you have any concerns call NHS 111 for advice. If the Government’s advice changes we will advise parents accordingly through the usual channels.
