About our Academy
Under our Academy motto, Aspire, Achieve, Excel, we expect our pupils to work hard, be well disciplined, achieve to the best of their ability and take pride in all that they do.
We are ambitious for all of our pupils and believe that our emphasis on the study of challenging subjects through our extended day offer is a key feature of our success. Teachers ensure that they are well prepared and continuously develop themselves to enhance our provision and extend our pupils. We are unrelenting and graciously uncompromising in our approach. In September 2011, the Hundred of Hoo converted to Academy status and became a member of the Williamson Trust. Just one year later Ofsted judged the Academy as 'Good with Outstanding features' recognising the relentless focus and ambition that we have.
We continue to ensure that the Hundred of Hoo is a beacon of excellence for the whole community with significant year on year rises in progress which is nationally recognised as being in the top 20% in the country.
In September 2015 the Academy opened its first Reception class thereby extending its age range to 4 year old children. This exciting provision again demonstrated the Academy’s sense of ambition to serve the community where pupils’ academic journey represents a cradle to university principle.
In September 2017, a new purpose built one-form entry Primary School incorporating Reception and Year one provision to the west of the Academy site was opened.
An Ofsted Inspection in July 2018 judged the Academy to be 'Good, with Outstanding Features' in Leadership and Management and our Early Years provision.
And on 1 January 2019 The Williamson Trust merged with the Leigh Academies Trust. Being part of the Trust will secure the longer-term future of the academy, and will also provide staff and pupils with even more opportunities for development.
